Irony or Odd

In my opinion, oddity and irony exist in everyone of us or should I say in the society. Most of the time, we find the values that we got from our parents or grandparents as odd or ironic. Like for example, in my family, after church, we need to kiss our parents, aunties and uncle, grandparents or whoever is with us their hands as a respect. For me that seems like odd. Its just my family doing that kind of stuff. It will be normal if we can just give them a kiss in the cheek not in their hands. One of the factor that I can see contribute to that oddity is our belief. My family were taught that kissing the old folks in our family in their hands is a sign of respect. Oddity is what we consider unusual or different while irony is an outcome of events contrary to what was, or might have been expected.
